PREPARING TO USE YOUR GRILL Before cooking with your grill, the following steps should be closely followed to both cure the finish and season the interior steel. Failure to properly follow these steps may damage the finish and/or impart metallic flavors to your first foods. Brush all interior surfaces including grills and grates with vegetable cooking oil. -

COOKING TIPS Building Your Fire Stack charcoal briquettes or wood into a pyramid-shaped pile on top of the charcoal grate. We recommend using 2 pounds (approximately 30 briquettes) to start your fire, adding more as needed. If using lighter fluid, saturate the charcoal briquettes with lighter fluid and let it soak in for approximately 5 minutes. - Page 5 Direct and Indirect Grilling Direct Grilling - For most grilling, the ignited coals are spread in a single layer under the food. This is called direct grilling and is appropriate for relatively quick-cooking items such as hamburgers, steaks and most seafood. The single layer of coals emits even, steady heat, whether the grill lid is open or closed, and represents the way most people grill.

ASSEMBLY 1/4-20x1/2” screws Total of 4 each To begin assembly, Attach the legs to the underside of the Firebox using 2 each 1/4- 20x1/2” screws and 2 each 1/4-20 flange nuts per leg. Insert screws from inside the firebox - all nuts go on the outside of the firebox. - Page 9 Attach the side handles to each side of the grill using 2 each 1/4-20x1/2 ” screws and 2 each 1/4-20 flange nuts per side. Install flange nuts from inside the grill. Tighten securely. Install the Ash Pan Handle by inserting it into the holes in the Ash Pan. Secure with 2 each 1/4-20 flange nuts. Next, install the damper wheel by inserting a 1/4-20x1/2"...

CONVERSION OF 11301714 CHARCOAL GRILL TO AN OFFSET SMOKER. This tabletop grill can be used to convert a model 11301714 Charcoal Grill into an offset smoker. Be aware that the conversion involves above average metalworking skills and tools not typically available to the average consumer. Also be aware that once this conversion is complete, it is not reversible. - Page 12 CAUTION: Wear Safety Glasses and Gloves! Next, working from outside the grill, use your hammer and drift punch to bend the screw hole tabs inwards. If the tabs do not break off completely, use your pliers from the inside the grill to twist the tabs until they break off. There are six holes that will need punched out as indicated with circles below.
- Page 13 CAUTION: Wear Safety Glasses and Gloves! Next, working from outside the grill, use your hammer and drift punch to bend the screw hole tabs inwards. If the tabs do not break off completely, use your pliers from the inside the grill to twist the tabs until they break off. There are six holes that will need punched out as indicated with circles below.
- Page 14 Next, install the front Connector Tube by inserting a 1/4-20x2" screw from inside the firebox, through one of the 12x33mm Connector Tubes, then into the 11301714 grill leg bracket. Secure with a 1/4-20 flange nut. Repeat for the rear side. Fully tighten all hardware installed. 1/4-20 Flanged Hex Nut Qty.
