GENERAL REMARKS General remarks on blood pressure and blood pressure measurement To defl ate the cuff quickly, press the “START/STOP” switch. Before applying your blood pressure cuff, be sure you have selected the appropriate size cuff: Adult Cuff fi ts arm circumference: 22-32 cm When attaching the cuff, adjust the position of the cuff so that the blue marker is located in the center of your arm and the hem of the cuff is 1-2 cm for Adult Cuff above your elbow. - Page 4 GENERAL REMARKS DO NOT try to measure your blood pressure immediately after drinking coffee or tea or after smoking. LOADING THE BATTERIES (Batteries supplied with the unit should be loaded in compartment before you use the blood pressure monitor.) * When you install the batteries for the fi rst time after purchase, the monitor will display the clock setting screen. Follow step 2 and subsequent steps in TIME ADJUSTMENT ( See page 13) to set the clock. -

LOADING THE BATTERIES Close the battery cover. Fitting the lugs of the cover at the mating recesses of the battery compartment body, push the hook to close the cover. USING AC ADAPTER (OPTION) Using the optional dedicated AC adapter (model:AC-230CZ) for the CITIZEN blood pressure monitor (CH-456) allows you to measure your blood pressure without having to worry about the amount of remaining charge in the batteries.) MEASURING YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE ATTACHING THE CUFF Before applying your blood pressure cuff, be sure you have selected the appropriate size cuff: Adult Cuff fi ts arm circumference: 22-32 cm Unroll the cuff and thread the end through the metal hoop so that the side with the hook-and-loop fastener is on the outside. - Page 16 MEASURING YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE Pull the end of the cuff outwards so that the cuff is snug around your arm and then secure the end to the hook-and-loop fastener. Place your arm on a table or the like, so that the center of the cuff comes to the height of your heart.

The time setting does not work on battery power. I tried to feed in the date and when everything is set the display turns off and when I press the start button again the time is reset. It works fine when plugged in but cannot use in battery only mode.
The Citizen REF CH-456 does not work on battery power for time setting because the clock setting screen is only displayed after inserting batteries for the first time. If the clock is not set after inserting the batteries, you may need to manually start the clock setting process.
