turn the timer on
56 Press and release the T button.
57 The T light will stop flashing, and glow steadily.
leave it alone
58 That's it – leave it alone till the preset time comes round, and it makes your coffee – don't
fiddle with it, you might upset it.
59 The clock will retain its settings until the coffee maker is unplugged.
60 If you want to cancel the timer before brewing has started, press the T button.
the carbon filter
61 Chemicals in the water may affect the flavour of your coffee. The carbon filter will remove or
reduce the amount of these chemicals.
62 Open the reservoir lid.
63 Grip the top of the carbon filter holder and pull it up and out of the reservoir.
64 Pull open the bottom of the carbon filter holder.
65 Remove the old carbon filter and put it in the bin.
66 Fit a fresh carbon filter into the bottom of the filter holder, and close it.
67 Turn the carbon filter holder till the tab is towards the coffee mill, lower it into the reservoir,
and push the bottom of the filter holder into the matching space in the floor of the reservoir.
68 Close the reservoir lid.
69 The carbon filter will last for 70 brewing cycles.
70 If you leave the coffee maker plugged in, it will count these for you, and show p in the
display when it needs replacing.
71 When you've replaced the filter, press and release the p button, to remove p from the
display.
72 Don't worry if you don't have a replacement carbon filter handy. The coffee machine will
work without it.
