    WARNING Be sure there is no power connection before starting installation! 2.1 Hard Disk Installation 2.1.1 8 Channel DVR Dual Hard Disk Installation This type of DVR contains two internal hard drive brackets for installing two SATA hard drives. You may use one drive only. Install the hard drive by following these simple steps Step 1 Unscrew the two screws on either side of the DVR housing.
  • Page 15 Step 4 Slide the bracket slightly backwards and then lift it out. Step 5 Put the hard drive onto the bracket then turn to another side to screw-in the hard drive and bracket together using four screws.

    2.3 Video Format Detection The ENDSS-4C8 „s DVR can automatically detect the video format (either NTSC or PAL) after the cameras have been properly installed and the DVR has been powered on. Please refer the section “Hardware Setup” to setup the NTSC/PAL auto detection.
  • Page 21 Brief Description for Connecting Devices Connect Security Cameras Connect the security cameras to the video inputs labeled as “CH1” to “CH8” (for 8Ch) on the DVR. This connection provides the DVR with the surveillance video input. Connect Security Monitor Connect the security monitor to the video output labeled as “VIDEO-OUT” on the DVR. The connection provides a video transmission path from the DVR to the security monitor.

    3.1 Turning on the DVR The ENDSS-4C8 „s is ready for operations after all peripherals have been properly connected and installed. Connect the power adaptor to turn the DVR on. The DVR may take a few seconds to startup. When the hard drive is detected by the system, it will ask whether or not you would like to format it.
