TILT LOCK MECHANISM (for Manual
tilt model)
The tilt-lock mechanism is used to pre-
vent reverse thrust from the propeller lift-
ing the outboard motor when reversing.
To lock it, set the tilt-lock lever in the up

position. To release it, push the tilt-lock
lever down.

NOTE:
The tilt-lock mechanism on the hydro-tilt
model can be used to keep the outboard
motor at a slightly tilted angle for shallow
water cruising. Refer to CRUISING IN
SHALLOW WATER for the correct opera-
tion.
