STOPPING

400 FT (122 m)
The Sport Boat is not equipped with a
separate braking system. It is stopped
by water resistance after the throttle
levers are moved back to idle. From full
speed, the Sport Boat stops in approx-
imately 400 ft (122 m) after the throttle
is moved back to idle. The stopping dis-
tance varies depending on gross
weight, water surface conditions, and
wind direction. The stated straight-
linestopping distance should be used
for a reference. The boat slows down as
soon as the throttle levers are returned
to idle but will coast for a distance
before fully stopping. If you are not sure
you can stop in time before hitting an
obstacle, apply throttle and turn in
another direction.
WARNING
You will lose steering control if you
completely pull the throttle levers
back to idle.

DOCKING

1) Make sure no obstructions, boats or
swimmers are close to the Sport
Boat. Come to a stop before you
reach the dock.
2) Notice how wind and water currents
are affecting boat movement as you
attach your mooring lines and fenders.
3) Approach the dock at idle speed.
Use reverse as necessary during
slow speed maneuvering to help
control speed and direction. Position
the boat according to wind and
water conditions.
WARNING
Do not use your hand, arm, or other
part of your body to try to keep the
boat from hitting the dock. You could
be injured if the boat pushes against
the dock.
Wind or current pushing boat away
from dock:
Slowly approach the dock at about a
45° angle. Secure the bow to the dock,
then use engine thrust or a boat hook
to gently move the stern to the dock.
