Getting started with SAMBA3G-E

6.2.1 Setting up your Modem in Windows® XP
This chapter describes how to install your SAMBA3G-E in Windows. It is recommended
that all-important files in your computer are backed up before the installation.
1- Inserting the SIM card:
SAMBA3G-E requires a small SIM card, which is provided by your mobile phone
service provider. This contains the telephone number of SAMBA3G-E will use, as well
as other customer information. To use UMTS services the SIM card should be UMTS-
enabled.
a) How to insert a SIM card:
 Insert the SIM card into the corresponding SIM card reader of the modem
as shown in figure below and slide it forward until it stops. The bevelled
corner of the SIM card has to be on the left side of SIM card reader and
the golden contact area is facing downwards. Make sure that the SIM
card is sit firmly into the SIM card reader slot. See also figures below.
