VHS Functions

Common Procedures
1
Press [ ON STANDBY] to turn on the unit.
To play back a tape, turn on the TV and be sure to
select the input to which the unit is connected.

Press [VCR].

Note for HDMI, Component and Digital
Audio (COAXIAL) Output in VHS
Playback
This unit can be output with HDMI, Component and Digital
Audio (COAXIAL) in VHS playback.
However, the image and the sound of VHS cannot be output
at the following condition.
• When switching to the VHS mode while recording in the
DVD mode.
• When selecting the DV channel (AV3).
• During DVD to VHS dubbing.
Playing back a Tape

Insert a pre-recorded tape, then press [PLAY B]
to begin playback.

During playback, press [PAUSE F].
Playback will be paused and sound will be muted.

Press [PLAY B] to resume playback.

Press [STOP C] to stop playback.

Press [OPEN CLOSE A] to eject the tape.
Note
• When a tape without record tab is inserted, the unit will start
playback automatically.
• Tracking will be automatically adjusted upon playback. To
adjust the tracking manually, press [PROG.

Before recording, make sure:
• The desired channel is selected by pressing
[the Number buttons] or [PROG.

Select the recording mode using [REC MODE].
• The desired recording mode is selected in SP or LP
mode by pressing [REC MODE].

Select the desired channel to record using
[PROG.

Basic Recording:
Press [REC I] to start recording.
To temporarily stop recording or to resume it, press
[PAUSE F].

After the unit has been in pause mode for 5 minutes, it will
stop automatically to protect the tape and the video head
from damage.
