    Installing Your System Step 1: Identify Your Existing Wiring System In order for you to properly connect your SBC 4000 to an existing wiring system, it is important that you understand its configuration. The following are the most common multiple line situations. They consist of either one or both types of stan- dard telephone jacks: The RJ11 Single Line Jack and the RJ14 Double Line Jack.

    This is the desired setup for most installations, and if this is how you will be con- necting your SBC 4000 system, you do not need to change any of the line con- nection settings in the telephones. You need only connect the phones to the tele- phone lines, and then follow the instructions on page 9 to be sure that you have connected the telephone numbers in the same order to each station.
