OPERATION

STARTING THE ENGINES

WARNING
SEVERE INJURY OR DEATH MAY
RESULT IF YOU IGNORE ANY OF
THE FOLLOWING:
Before
operating
become familiar with all controls.
Consult your Yamaha dealer
about any control or function you
do not fully understand.
Attach the engine shut-off switch
cord to your personal flotation
device before operating. Failure
to attach cord could result in a
runaway boat if operator is
ejected.
Check throttle, steering and shift
lever for proper operation before
starting the engine.
Shift into Neutral before starting
engines. Put throttle levers in idle
position before shifting.
Never start the engine or let it run
any length of time in an enclosed
area. Exhaust fumes contain car-
bon monoxide, a colorless, odor-
less gas that may cause loss of
consciousness and death within
a short time. Always operate the
boat in an open area.
