Symptom
Considerable noise in
radio broadcasts.
Broadcast stations
cannot be selected
automatically.
The display is dark or
off.
When listening to the
music in stereo, left/
right speakers sounds
are reversed.
Low hum or buzz
sound.
Sound is only heard
from one channel.
Sound cuts off or there
is no sound even
though power is on.
Low bass response.
No sound from the rear
speakers.
No sound from the
center speaker.
If the receiver does not operate normally due to external effects such as static electricity, disconnect the power plug from the outlet
and insert again to return to normal operating conditions.
Cause
Incorrect frequency.
The antenna is not connected.
RF (AC-3) and/or digital cables are
near the antenna terminals and wires.
(For FM) The FM antenna is not fully
extended or is poorly positioned.
(For FM) The signal is weak.
(For AM) The AM antenna is poorly
positioned.
(For AM) The signal is weak.
Interference caused by other equipment
(for example, fluorescent lights, motors).
The signals are weak.
The dimmer is on.
Speakers are connected wrong.
Power line of a fluorescent light is
installed near this product.
One of the input cords is disconnected.
The speaker level is set to one side.
Speaker impedance is less than prescribed
for this unit.
Speaker polarity(+/–) is reversed.
Surround Mode is set to
STEREO
Source being played is not recorded or
broadcast in surround sound or stereo.
One or more rear speaker wires is not
making good contact,

Tune in the correct frequency.
Connect the antenna.
Route
RF (AC-3) and digital cables away from the
antenna terminals and wires.
Fully extend the FM wire antenna, position for best
reception, and secure to a wall.
Connect an outdoor FM antenna.
Adjust the direction and position for best reception.
Connect an additional internal or external AM antenna.
Turn off the equipment causing the noise or move it away
from the receiver.
Place the antenna farther away from the equipment causing
the noise.
Connect an outdoor antenna.
Press
DIMMER
After checking, if needed, reconnect.
Place this product as far away as possible from electric
devices with interference.
Connect the input cords securely.
Adjust the speaker level.
After turning off the power and then turning it on again,
reduce the volume or change to the correct 6-ohm speakers.
Check all speakers for correct polarity.

Set the mode to the desired surround mode position.
Use surround or stereo source.
Check all rear speaker wires for good connection.
