Using Focus Lock
When taking a photo where your subject is off-center, the camera will
focus on the central area, resulting in your subject being out of focus.
Focus Lock allows you to focus on an off-center subject.
1
Frame your subject in the center of the
frame with the LCD monitor. Press the
shutter release button halfway down
and hold it to set the focus and
exposure.
2
Keep the shutter release button
pressed and recompose your picture,
with your subject positioned off-center.
3
Press the shutter release button down
fully to take the picture.
Note: The color of the focus bracket
indicates whether the camera has
focused successfully or not.
• AF success: The focus bracket turns
green.
• AF fail: The focus bracket turns red.
