Configuring the Advanced Settings
In the Advanced Settings menu, you can configure all the options for the
Gigaset SX553 WLAN dsl. If required, you can also change the settings you made
using the wizard. The following table contains the options available in this menu.

Description
This menu comprises all the setting options relating to the
Internet. In particular, you can do the following:
u
check and change the configuration for Internet access (see
page 55) or specify a preferred DNS server (see page 58),
u
set up Traffic Control for your Internet access (see page 60),
u
configure the firewall, i.e. a number of security and special
functions, for example access control for local PCs to the
Internet or blocking certain Internet sites (see page 62),
u
make the NAT settings required to provide your own serv-
ices on the Internet (see page 69),
u
set up dynamic DNS for a static Internet address on the
device (see page 75),
u
configure the Quality of Service (QoS) (see page 77).
Here you can change the
Gigaset SX553 WLAN dsl and make settings on the DHCP server
(see page 78).
Here you can configure the options for wireless communication
(SSID and encryption) and restrict access to the Gigaset SX553
WLAN dsl (see page 80).
Here you can make the settings for Internet telephony (VoIP)
and configure your extensions (see page 91).
Here you can make the settings for operating an external data
carrier, a Web server, a file server or a printer server on the
USB port (see page 101).
Here you can make or change various system settings,
e.g. assign a password (see page 110), set the time (see
page 109) or activate remote management (see page 111).
In addition, you can also back up the data on your
Gigaset SX553 WLAN dsl or load new firmware (see page 113).
