Recording the radio

Remote control only

Preparation:
Insert the MD ( a page 12) or the cassette tape ( a page 16).
Tune to the required station. ( a pages 18 and 19)

Press [MD REC MODE] to select the SP/LP2/LP4 recording mode.
MD REC

Press [EDIT MODE] to select the desired mode.

Each time you press the button:
MANUAL / TURN BACK / TIME MARK / TURN/TIME
If you selected "TURN BACK" or "TURN/TIME" in step 1

While pressing [*/h REC], press [q/h MD] to
enter recording standby.
Note
Wait until the "TURN BACK" indicator stops flashing before
proceeding to step 3 to start recording. (Turn back may not function
correctly if recording is started while the indicator is flashing.)

To stop recording
Press [g STOP/CANCEL].
MD REC
Recording is complete after the message "UTOC Writing" and
UTOC
" " stops flashing on the display.
Do not disconnect the unit from its power source while this message is
flashing. This can cause the recording to be erased and damage the
disc.
To pause recording
MD REC
:
While pressing [*/h REC], press [q/h MD].
A track mark is added.
TAPE REC
:
While pressing [*/h REC], press [7 TAPE].
Repeat to restart recording.

To add track marks while recording on MDs
Press [EDIT MODE] on the remote control where the track mark is
required.
These track marks can be removed after recording with the editing
function ( a "COMBINE", page 33).
TAPE REC
To reduce noise while tape recording an AM broadcast (Beat proof
function)
Press and hold [PLAY MODE] on the remote control.
Each time you press and hold the button: BP 1 ! BP 2
Select the position where there is less noise.
press [q/h MD].
