Playing a USB device

A USB device such as a USB fl ash memory or a
digital audio player with USB mass storage class
compatibility can be connected to play audio fi les in
it.

Playback

Connect the USB device.
Connect a USB fl ash memory or the USB cable
from the USB audio player to the USB terminal of
the main unit. (page 18) Also read the instruction
manual for the connected external component.

Select the "USB" audio source.
Rotate [JOG].
Press [INPUT SELECTORA/B].

Start playback.
Press [VOLUME].
Press [E].
Playback starts from the fi rst audio fi le. The folders
and audio fi les are searched and playback is
started with the fi le with the smallest fi le number.
For the order of playback where there several folders
and/or audio fi les, see "Order of playback of folders
and audio fi les" (page 35).
Playback does not start if there is no playable music fi le
in the card.
If a USB device consuming current above the rated
current is connected, "USB ERROR" is displayed and it
cannot be played through this system. If this happens,
turn this system OFF and disconnect the USB device.

Folder play mode

The folder play mode plays the fi les in the selected
folder of the USB source.
Select the USB source and enter stop mode.

(folder play mode).
Press [P.MODE].
Each press switches the playback mode as follows.

Not lit

Select the folder to be played.
Press [FOLDER A/B].
Playback starts from the fi rst audio fi le.In the
folder play mode, only the selected folder is
played and playback stops after having played all
of the fi les in the folder.
To cancel the folder play mode:
After playback has stopped, press
[P.MODE].
