LONGER THAN SPECIFIED IN THE EXHAUST
LENGTH TABLE.
Using exhaustlonger than specifiedlengthwill:
• Increasethe drying times and the energy cost.
• Reducethe dryer life.
• Accumulate lint, creating a potential fire hazard.
Thecorrect exhaust installation is YOURRESPONSIBILITY.
Problems due to incorrect installation are not covered by

HOOD OR WALL CAP
• Terminatein a manner to prevent back drafts or entrg of birds
or other wildlife.
• Terminationshouldpresent minimal resistanceto the exhaust
air flow and should require little or no maintenanceto prevent
clogging.
•Never install a screenin or over the exhaust duct. Thiscould
cause lint build up.
• Wall caps must be installed at least 12 in.above ground level
or any other obstruction with the opening pointeddown.
SEPARATION OF TURNS
Forbest performance, separate all turns bg at least 4 ft. of
straight duct, includingdistance between last turn and exhaust
hood.
TURNS OTHER THAN90°
• Oneturn of 45° or less meg be ignored.
• Two 450turns shouldbe treated as one 900turn.
• Eachturn over450 shouldbe treated as one 900turn.
SEALING OFJOINTS
• Alljoints should be tight to avoid leaks. The male end of each
section of duct must point awag from the dryer.
• Do not assemblethe ductwork with fasteners that extend into
the duct. They will serve as a collectionpoint for lint.
• Ductjoints can be made air and moisture-tight by wrapping
the overlappedjoints with duct tape.
• Horizontalruns shouldslopedown toward the outdoors l_inch
per foot
INSULATION
Ductwork that runs through an unheated area or is near air
conditioning shouldbe insulatedto reducecondensationand
