INTRODUCTION:
Congratulations on purchasing a Gemini DSP-1 effect unit. This state
of the art effects processor is backed by a three-year warranty. Prior
to use, we suggest that you carefully read all the instructions.

CAUTIONS:
1. All operating instructions should be read before using this equipment.
2. To reduce the risk of electrical shock, do not open the unit. There are,
NO USER REPLACEABLE PARTS INSIDE. Please refer servicing to a
qualified Gemini Sound Products service technician.
3. Do not expose this unit to direct sunlight or to a heat source
such as a radiator or stove.
4. This unit should be cleaned only with a damp cloth.
Avoid solvents or other cleaning detergents.
5. When moving this equipment, it should be placed in its original carton
and packaging. This will reduce the risk of damage during transit.
6. DO NOT EXPOSE THIS UNIT TO RAIN OR MOISTURE.
7. DO NOT USE ANY SPRAY CLEANER OR LUBRICANT ON ANY
CONTROLS OR SWITCHES.
CONNECTIONS:
On the rear panel of the DSP-1 are 2 STEREO PH/L (PHONO/LINE)
INPUTS (1,2), 2 PH/L (PHONO/LINE) (3,4) buttons, and 2 STEREO LINE
OUTPUTS (5,6). The PH1/1L1 (3) button enables you to set the PH1/L1
INPUT (1) to PHONO or LINE. PH2/L2 (4) enables you to set the PH2/L2
INPUT (2) to PHONO or LINE. The STEREO LINE INPUTS (1, 2) will
accept any RCA line level inputs such as a CD, DAT, MD, KEYBOARDS,
SAMPLERS, etc. and also TURNTABLE PHONO inputs. Connect the 2
STEREO LINE OUTPUTS (5, 6) to your DJ MIXER channels or PLAY
BACK DEVICE. Plug in the provided AC 15V ADAPTER into the AC 15V
(7) input and connect to a POWER source (electrical outlet), the DSP-1
will turn ON. When using turntables make sure that the ground wires
from the turntable are connected to the GROUND SCREWS on the
underside of the DSP-1 to ground any turntable inputs.

OPERATION:

1. CHANNEL 1 (CH1)/CHANNEL 2 (CH2): After the DSP-1 is connected,
make sure the power is on. Press either CH1 (8) or CH2 (9) to select
from the inputs PH1/L1 (1) and PH2/L2 (2). Make sure the VOLUME
(18) knob is loud enough to hear the chosen input.
2. SYNTH/EFX: Once a channel is picked, press SYNTH/EFX (10) to select
either SYNTH or EFX mode.
3. EFFECTS/SYNTHS: Now that SYNTH or EFFECT has been selected,
refer to the EFFECTS (11) or SYNTHS (12) lists, to select 1-12 effects.
NOTE: PLEASE REFER TO EFX/SYNTH SECTION BELOW FOR DETAILS.
4. 1-12: For EFFECTS (11) or SYNTHS (12), when the buttons 1-12 (13)
are pressed an effect will be selected.

PARAMETER or SYNTHS (12) LOOP BPM, press and hold buttons
1-12 (13) to enable MEMO mode. The button that was picked from
1-12 (13) must be pressed and held down again to recall the setting.
5. PLAY/PAUSE: Pressing the PLAY/PAUSE (14) button will turn the
EFFECT and SYNTH, ON or OFF, for either CH-1 or CH-2, depending on
which mode that the DSP-1 is in.
6. PARAMETER JOG WHEEL: Rotating the PARAMETER JOG WHEEL (15)
will change the EFFECT PARAMETER and in SYNTH mode the
PARAMETER JOG WHEEL (15) adjusts the BPM of a SYNTH LOOP.
7. PARAMETER LED: The PARAMETER LED (16) displays the BPM or
PARAMETER settings. In BPM mode, the BPM of the selected inputs
CH1 (8) or CH2 (9) will be shown. In EFFECT mode the PARAMETER of
the EFFECT will be displayed, but in SYNTH mode the BPM of a SYNTH
LOOP will display.
8. PARAMETER LED MODE: To change from PARAMETER to BPM mode
press the PARAMETER LED MODE (17) button and vice versa.
9. VOLUME: The VOLUME (18) knob sets the VOLUME of the selected
input CH1 or CH2.
10.DRY/MIX: In EFFECT mode this knob sets the EFFECT DEPTH, however
in SYNTH mode the DRY/MIX (19) knob sets the SYNTH volume.
11.DSP-1 (STAND INSERT): Screw the DSP-1 (20) onto a standard
MICROPHONE STAND from the underside for mounting.
EFX/SYNTH:
After you choose the SYNTH/EFX (10) mode, you may choose from
1 of 12, EFFECTS or SYNTH modes, here is how it works.
EFFECTS:
1. For the EFFECTS (11), you may choose 1 EFFECT to use from the
1-2 (13) buttons.
2. When you choose an EFFECT adjust the PARAMETERS of the EFFECT,
by turning the JOG WHEEL (15). The PARAMETERS of the EFFECT that
is being used will INCREASE when the wheel is turned to the RIGHT,
and DECREASE when turned to the LEFT. The EFFECTS PARAMETERS
range from 0-100, except for PITCH, which has a -99 to 100 SETTING.
3. Turning the DRY/MIX (19) will adjust the EFFECT DEPTH. If the knob is
to the LEFT or DRY, the EFFECT will be OFF or DRY. Turned to the
RIGHT or MIX, the EFFECT will be ON or WET.
EFFECTS:
1. Echo: Echo is when the original signal is delayed when being input
and then fed back into the signal creating the Echo effect. The length
of the echo increases when increase the parameter setting.
2. Delay: Delay takes the audio signal, and plays it back after the delay
time. The delay time can range from several milliseconds to several
seconds depending on how much the parameter is changed.
