Local Authentication Login

Logging in through local authentication logs you directly into the xPrintServer unit through the
local database.

communicates with a remote server to authenticate user passwords (see
Directory). The Admin user must first establish a remote authentication user name and password
in Microsoft Active Directory. Once established, users using remote authentication can follow the
same steps under
default.
Though the xPrintServer supports remote authentication using MS Active Directory, it is

only used for authenticating print jobs sent to xPrintServer-protected printers. The xPrintServer
GUI access will only authenticate against the xPrintServer-configured local user database.
