Playing Sounds

Choosing a Studio Set

A Studio Set stores the sounds selected for each Part, as well
as various performance-related settings (except for system
parameters).
By switching studio sets you can change sounds at the beginning of
a song or change large numbers of settings at once.
NOTE
If you're selecting a studio set that uses tones from an
EXPANSION Virtual Slot, you won't hear anything unless the
corresponding sound data is loaded.
1.
Press the [MENU] button.
2.
Choose "STUDIO SET SELECT" and press the[ENTER]
button.
3.
Use the value dial to select a Studio Set.
4.
Press the [ENTER] button.
The studio set will be switched.
MEMO
You can also access the STUDIO SET selection screen by holding
down the [SHIFT] button and pressing the [PART VIEW] button.
Viewing a List of All Parts
(PART VIEW -ALL- Screen)
In this screen you can edit the part parameters while viewing a list
of all parts.
* Some of the part parameters are not shown.
1.
Press the [PART VIEW] button.
2.
Use the cursor buttons to select the item that you want to
edit, and use the value dial to edit the value.
By holding down the [SHIFT] button and pressing a cursor [
button you can switch between tabs.

Viewing the Part Settings
(PART VIEW Screen)
In this screen you can edit the part parameters while focusing on a
single part.
1.
In the top screen, press the [PART VIEW] button twice.
2.
Use the PART [
you want to change.
3.
Use the cursor buttons to select the item that you want to
edit, and use the value dial to edit the value.
Temporarily Silencing a Part's Sound
(MUTE)
Here's how to temporarily mute (silence) the sound of each part.
1.
In the top screen, move the cursor to "MUTE."
2.
Use the PART [
you want to mute (silence).
3.
Use the [DEC] [INC] buttons to turn mute on/off.
The bar (—) above the part number will disappear to
indicate parts for which Mute is turned on.

Listening to Only One Part (SOLO)

Here's how you can listen to only the sound of the currently
selected part.
1.
In the top screen, move the cursor to "SOLO."

Use the PART [
you want to hear.
3.
Use the [DEC] [INC] buttons to turn solo on/off.

If you switch parts while solo is on, the soloed part will also
change.
