There's No Sound or Level
SONAR has two modes that govern how fader levels function: Envelope Mode and
Offset Mode. In Envelope Mode, any envelopes in the track or bus control the level,
and ignore any movements you make to the fader. In Offset mode, any envelopes in
the track or bus add their level to any level that the fader contributes. For

What to do...
Make sure that the input for the track you are
recording (in the Track view) is set to an Audio
input before recording.
Double-click on the speaker icon in the
Windows task bar to display the mixer. Choose
Options-Properties, select Adjust Volume for
Recording, and click OK. Make sure the
appropriate Select boxes have checkmarks
and the input volume is turned up.
Try recording audio using the Microsoft Sound
Recorder (Start-Programs-Accessories-
Multimedia-Sound Recorder). If it fails, check
your sound card documentation to make sure it
is properly installed and configured.
Make sure that 1) you have chosen an input for
the track; 2) you have armed the track for
recording; and 3) you have pressed the Record
button, and not the Play button.
