TAKING CARE OF UNEXPECTED PROBLEMS
Possible Cause
Out of fuel.
Fuel vent closed.
Fuel valve lever in the OFF
position.
Bad fuel; boat stored without
treating or draining gasoline, or
refueled with bad gasoline.
Spark plug faulty, fouled or
improperly gapped.
Spark plug wet with fuel (flooded
engine).
Carburetor malfunction, ignition
malfunction, stuck valves, etc.
Correction
Refuel (p. 47 ).
Open the vent knob (p. 23
Move the fuel valve lever to the
ON position (p. 24 ).
Drain fuel tank and carburetor
(p. 52 ). Refill with fresh
gasoline (p. 47 ).
Gap or replace spark plug (p.
