Technical information

How many telephones can you have?

All items of equipment have a Ringer Equivalence Number (REN) which is used to calculate
the number of items that may be connected to any one telephone line.
The BT Diverse 6210 has a total REN of 1, i.e. for a base and up to 6 handsets.
Any other instrument provided by BT may be assumed to have a REN of 1 unless
stated otherwise.
A total REN of 4 is allowed per telephone line. (For example, if the BT Diverse 6210 is used
in conjunction with three extension telephones, each with a REN of 1, then the total = 4.)
