Checking the Focus

You can check the focus lock position (AF point) by magnifying the image
on the monitor, centering around the area in focus.

View the subject on the monitor, and press the shutter
release button halfway.
The autofocus system operates.

Press the 4 button while keeping the shutter release
button pressed halfway.
While the shutter release button is pressed halfway, the image on the
monitor is magnified centering around the AF point.

Use the e-dial to change the
magnification.
Magnification can be selected from 2 to 6
times.

Press the 4 button or stop pressing the shutter release
button halfway.
The camera returns to standby mode.
• When [AF Autozoom] is set to O (On) in [AF/MF Settings] of the [A Rec.
Mode 1] menu, the camera automatically magnifies the image 1 second after
the focus is locked.
• In \ mode, an image can be magnified by simply pressing the 4 button.

An image cannot be magnified when [Autofocus Method] is set to E
(Tracking).
