Program this setting using either the base unit or

*1 The default setting for "Greeting1" plays
between "9:00 AM" and "4:59 PM", and the
default setting for "Greeting2" or
"Greeting only" plays between "5:00 PM"
and "8:59 AM".

Answering System for Landline
Selecting "Greeting only"
You can select "Greeting only" which sets the
unit to announce a greeting message to callers but
not record messages.
Select "Greeting only" or
"Greeting1&Only" in step 2 on "Selecting the
greeting message", page 54.
Recording your greeting message

20 cm (8 inches) away and speak clearly into
the microphone (2 minutes max.).

Using a pre-recorded greeting
message
The unit provides 2 pre-recorded greeting
messages:
– If you erase or do not record your own greeting
message, the unit plays a pre-recorded greeting
asking callers to leave a message.
– If the greeting setting (page 54) is set to
"Greeting only" or "Greeting1&Only",
callers' messages are not recorded and the unit
plays a different pre-recorded greeting message
asking callers to call again.
Resetting to a pre-recorded greeting message
If you want to use a pre-recorded greeting
message once you record your own greeting
message, you need to erase your own greeting
message.
