6. ADJUSTING THE SYNCHRONIZER

WARNING :
To protect against possible personal injury due to abrupt start of the machine, be sure to start the
following work after turning the power off and ascertaining that the motor is at rest.

Adjust the upper stop position (needle-up stop posi-
tion) so that the marker line on belt cover A ❷ aligns
with the marker dot (one) on handwheel ❶ (70 °po-
sition).
Adjust the lower stop position (needle-down stop
position) so that the needle bar stops at the position
where the needle bar goes up from the lower dead
point (180 °) by approximately 13 mm (120 °posi-
tion). (The position which is reached by turning the
handwheel from the lower end of the needle bar in
the reverse direction of rotation of the main shaft (di-
rection C))
