Hard disk
The hard disk is the most important storage medium of your notebook. You can work considerably
faster and more efficiently if you copy applications and files from floppy disks and/or CDs to your
hard disk.
When the hard disk is accessed, the hard disk indicator lights up in the status indicator panel.

PC cards

Two PC card slots (CardBus or PCMCIA) on the left-hand side of your notebook permit operation
with two Type I / II PC cards or one Type III PC card.
The PC card must not consume more than 600mA (at +5V) or 60mA (at +12V).

Consult the documentation supplied by the PC card's manufacturer and follow the
instructions provided.
Never use force when inserting or removing a PC card.
Make sure that foreign objects do not fall into the PC card slot.

Installing a PC card

Make sure the PC card slot is free.
Ê
Insert the PC card, contacts first, into the lower slot guide. The labelled side of the PC card
must be facing upward.
Ê
Gently push the PC card into the slot until you feel it click into place.
Ê
As soon as the card is inserted, the eject button pops out.
Consult the documentation supplied with the PC card for information on how to install the
i
necessary device drivers.
For further information refer to the information files (e.g. *.TXT, *.DOC, *.WRI, or *.HLP)
provided on the PC card driver diskette or the information in the Windows 9x manual.
You can push the PC card slot eject button into the notebook casing. Fold back the eject
button to the rear.
