Updating through microSD Card
Choose "Updates by SD card" when you want to use a
microSD card for software update.
• To carry out a software update, connect the product to
a PC (P.54), and download the update software from
the manufacturer's site to a microSD card by the PC.
For more information, refer to the manufacturer's site.
• After the software update is completed, manually
delete the update software downloaded to your
microSD card (the software can be safely removed
once the software update has completed normally).
• "Updates by SD card" cannot be done in the following
circumstances.
- When the battery level is too low for software update
Confirming update
Check whether the software update is available for the
product.
• "Confirmation of update" cannot be done in the
following circumstances.
- When outside service area
- Airplane mode
- When the date / time are not correctly set

From the Idle screen, tap
"About phone"
"Software update".

Tap "Confirmation of update".
The confirmation starts.
Automatically Software Update (Auto
update)
You can regularly check the update information
automatically, and check whether you can upgrade the
version. For the latest software information, refer to the
manufacturer's site.

Check the box of "Auto update".
Notes
• "Auto update" is not set by default.
• The product cannot automatically check the update
information when the "Auto update" is not set, during data
communication for an immediate software update, etc.

Operation when an update is available
"Software update" screen appears when an update is
available.

Starting the software update immediately
Tap "Now" and follow the instructions on the screen.
• Software update cannot be done in the following
circumstances.
- When outside service area
- During international roaming
- Airplane mode

- When the USB cable is connected and mounted
- When the "USB tethering" is being used
- When the "Portable Wi-Fi hotspot" is being used
- When the date / time are not correctly set
- When the battery level is too low for software update
- When there is insufficient free space in the microSD
card for software update
Notes
• After restarting by your operation, the product automatically
restarts again.
• If you tap "Later", you can update later. From the Idle screen,
tap
"Settings"
"Update now".
