Google Maps

You can use Google Maps display your current location,
search other locations, search directions, etc. To use
Google Maps, a 3G / GPRS or Wi-Fi connection enabling
data communication is required. Set the Location Service
on beforehand. (P.39)
From the application list screen, tap "Maps".
The first time you launch this application, a screen
presenting new map features appears. Tap "OK".

Zooming in / out on the map
• Zoom in: Tap "+", slide two of your fingers apart, or
double-tap (tap twice).
• Zoom out: Tap "-", slide two of your fingers together, or
tap with your two fingers.

Displaying the current location
Tap .

Searching for a location
Enter a location in "Search Maps"
candidate.
With tapping , you can also use Voice searching.
You can save the searched location as "Starred Places"
by tapping . After saving, you can display the
starred place later by tapping
"Starred Places" appears. You can also display a recently
searched location by tapping "Recent".

Viewing Street View
Touch and hold a point to view
Some regions are not supported for Street View.

Displaying layers
Tap the item to display information such as traffic
conditions overlaid on a map, or switch to an aerial
photograph.
Traffic conditions and railway lines are provided for
limited regions.

Clearing a map
Tap "Clear Map" to clear all displayed layers and
directions search results.

Looking up directions

You can view directions to your destination.

While viewing a map, tap

Enter the starting point in the textbox above.

Enter the arrival point in the textbox below.
You can tap and specify a contacts address, map
location, etc.

Tap the means (
(on foot)) "Get directions".
When several sets of directions are found, tap the
desired directions.
If you tap , tap
also set departure time or arrival time before
selecting a trip.
