3 Get started

Caution
Use of controls or adjustments or performance of
procedures other than herein may result in hazardous
radiation exposure or other unsafe operation.
Always follow the instructions in this chapter in
sequence.

Install battery

Caution
Risk of explosion! Keep batteries away from heat,
sunshine or fire. Never discard batteries in fire.
Risk of product damage! When the apparatus is not
used for long periods, remove the battery.
Batteries contain chemical substances, so they should
be disposed of properly.

Open the battery compartment.

Insert 4 x 1.5 V R14/C CELL/UM2
batteries (not supplied) with correct
polarity (+/-) as indicated.

Close the battery compartment.
Tip
When the main unit is powered by batteries, the
backlight turns on for 5 seconds after any operation.

Connect power

Caution
Risk of product damage! Ensure that the power supply
voltage corresponds to the voltage printed on the back
or the underside of the unit.
Risk of electric shock! When you unplug the AC power
cord, always pull the plug from the socket. Never pull
the cord.
Connect the supplied AC power cord to:
the AC 5V ~ 1A jack on the main unit.
the wall outlet.

Set the clock

In standby mode, press and hold SCAN
/PROG for two seconds.
» [24H] or [12H] begin to blink.

Rotate Tuning Knob to set the time
format.

Press Tuning Knob to confirm.
» The hour digits begin to blink.

Rotate Tuning Knob to set the hour.
5
Press Tuning Knob to confirm.
» The minute digits begin to blink.
