If you do not want to change additional
settings, press Black Start or
Color Start.
If you placed the document in the ADF
the machine scans the document and
starts printing.

MFC models only
If you are using the scanner glass, go
to step g.

After the machine scans the page, press
1 or + to scan the next page.

Place the next page on the scanner
glass. Press OK to scan the page.
Repeat steps g and h until all the
pages have been scanned.

Press 2 or - to finish scanning.
The machine starts printing.
NOTE
Fit to Page and Page Layout are
not available with Sort.

Adjusting Density

You can adjust the copy density to make
copies darker or lighter.

Load your document.

(MFC models)
Press
(COPY).

Enter the number of copies you want.

Press a or b to choose Density.
Press OK.

Press c to make the copy darker or
press d to make the copy lighter.
Press OK.

If you do not want to change additional
settings, press Black Start or
Color Start.

Remove Background Color

Remove Background Color removes the

,
background color of the document when
copying. This may make the copy more
readable and it will save some ink.
NOTE
This function is for use only when making
color copies. The background color is
automatically removed for all black &
white copies.

Load your document.

(MFC models)
Press

Enter the number of copies you want.

Press a or b to choose
Advanced Settings.
Press OK.

Press a or b to choose
Remove Background.
Press OK.

Press a or b to choose Low, Medium or
High.
Press OK.

Press Color Start.
NOTE
Fit to Page and Page Layout are
not available with Remove Background.
(COPY).
