Default Server Settings

Use this page to specify details of HTTP and FTP proxy servers, through which the appliance receives
updates, and to set up a remote backup server.

Benefits of configuring default server settings
The FTP and HTTP proxy servers that you specify here are used by the appliance as the default proxy
server to:
get threat detection file updates (anti-virus, anti-spam, and web categorization database)
install package updates (patches and hotfixes)
The default remote backup server that you specify here is used by the appliance as the default server
to:
Automatically back up your configuration.
Create a system log archive.
You can set the appliance to use different servers for each of those
actions in their related configuration wizards.

Specify the following information to set up the HTTP proxy and FTP proxy:
Proxy server
Proxy port
Proxy username
Proxy password
Remote backup server settings
There are three options to choose from to back up to a remote server:
FTP
SSH with password authentication
SSH with public key authentication
If you use either FTP or SSH with password authentication, your passwords are stored in the appliance
configuration files, in plain text format. The most secure option is to use SSH with public key
authentication. To use this feature, you must click the link to generate a key file, which you must then
copy and paste into your authorized keys file so that the appliance can perform the backup.
