Playback
Problem
During playback there is video
noise.
Pressing the playback button
does not start playback.
No sound from the built-in
speaker.
When playing back a tape
recorded in HDV standard the
playback is jerky or the sound
stutters on and off.
Image will not appear on the
TV screen.
There is no sound from the TV.
Text displays do not appear on
the TV.
Tape is running, but image will
not appear on the TV screen.
The camcorder is connected
using the HDMI cable, but there
is no picture or sound from the
HDTV.

audio connections using the white and red plugs of the
STV-250N Stereo Video Cable.
If you connected the camcorder to the TV using the video
component connection, set [DV OUTPUT] to [HDV/DV].
The video input on the TV is not set to the video terminal to
which you connected the camcorder. Select the correct video
input.
Video heads are dirty. Clean the video heads.
You attempted to play back or dub a copyright protected tape.
Stop playback/dubbing.
Video input from the HDV/DV terminal cannot be output through
the HDMI OUT terminal.
This may happen when playing back a tape that contains mixed
recordings in different standards (HDV/DV). Disconnect the
HDMI cable and then restore the connection or turn the
camcorder off and then on again.
