Remove the system board from the chassis as follows.
Locate the two standoffs on the system board, towards the front of the chassis.

Lift the system board up enough to clear the standoffs, then slide the board towards the

back of the chassis.
!
Remove the board from the chassis.
Remove the screws securing the VGA, parallel, and serial ports to the back panel and

remove the panel from the board.

If the system board is being replaced, remove the processor assembly and the DIMM
module(s) from the board. Store in anti-static bags for later installation on a new board. (See
"Processor Removal" and "DIMM Module Removal" earlier in this section for removal and
installation procedures.)
Set the board aside for replacement.
10.
Install the system board as follows (refer to the figure "Removing the System Board" while
performing the procedure).
Position the base of the back panel under the port end of the system board.

Secure the VGA, parallel, and serial ports to the back panel with their previously removed

screws.
3.
Install the system board and back panel in the chassis as follows.
Slide the board and back panel into the rear of the chassis.

Lift the board slightly to clear the two standoffs.
!
Align the standoffs with their corresponding holes in the board.
!
Ensure that the standoffs are inserted into the standoff holes in the board.
!
Ensure that the system board front panel connectors are correctly aligned with their
!
openings in the front panel.
Align the three screw holes in the system board with their corresponding holes in the base,

then secure the board to the base with two screws (

Ensure that the back panel fits squarely with the bottom of the chassis.

Fasten the back panel to the chassis with screw (

Fasten the right side of the chassis to the back panel with lower side screw (
Plug all previously removed cables into their respective connectors on the system board.

Lower the 5 1/4-inch device bracket enough to plug in the CD-ROM drive cables, then
continue lowering the bracket until it locks in place in the system chassis (see "5 1/4-Inch
Device Removal" earlier in this section).
As necessary, reinstall a processor and DIMM module(s) on the system board.

Reinstall the following:

riser board bracket (see "Expansion Board Removal")

diskette drive (see "Diskette Drive Removal")

system cover (see "System Cover Removal").

Connect all system and peripheral power cords.
