Action
1. Run the hard disk drive
diagnostic tests on drive x (see
"Running the diagnostic
programs" in the Problem
Determination and Service
Guide on the IBM System x
Documentation CD).
2. Reseat the following
components, depending on the
server model:
v Hot-swap models: Hard disk
drive x
v Simple-swap models:
a. Hard disk drive x
b. Hard disk drive x cable
3. Replace the following
components one at a time,
depending on the server
model, in the order shown,
restarting the server each time:
v Hot-swap models:
a. Hard disk drive x

backplane

board
v Simple-swap models:

b. Hard disk drive x cable

Run the Configuration/Setup Utility
