Displaying Radio Data System
information
You can display the Radio Data System information
that's currently being broadcast by the selected FM
station.

Press TUNER to select the TUNER input source,
and select a preset or tune in to a station that
uses the Radio Data System.

Press FREQ/TEXT repeatedly to display the
available Radio Data System information.
The PS, PTY, RT, or CT indicator corresponding
to the selected Radio Data System information
flashes on the display for a few seconds.
Radio Data System information is displayed in the
following order:
PS
PTY
RT
* This is the normal frequency display.
About Radio Data System information
• PS (Program Service name)
Displays the name of the station. When you select a
preset or tune in to a station that's broadcasting PS
information, the station's name will be displayed
shortly after the frequency has been displayed.
• PTY (Program Type)
Displays the type of program currently being
broadcast, for example, News, Sports, or Music
Genre.

Frequency*
• RT (Radio Text)
Displays any text messages being broadcast by the
station. This can be a scrolling message up to 64
characters in length. Any unsupported characters will
be replaced with an underscore (_) character.
• CT (Clock Time)
Displays the time information being broadcast by the
station.
Notes:
• Not all FM radio stations and programs broadcast
all types of Radio Data System information.
• The message "WAIT" may appear if, for some
reason, the PTY, RT, or CT information is not
received.
• If the signal from a station that uses the Radio
Data System is weak, the DRX-730 may not
receive the Radio Data System information
correctly.
