    NTRODUCTION Your Caller ID phone stores and displays specific information, provided by your local telephone company, to subscribers of Caller ID or similar caller identification services. You must subscribe to one of these services in order to use this unit. Your Caller ID phone enables you to: •...

    TVs and VCRs. To minimize or prevent such interference, the base of the cordless telephone should not be placed near or on top of a TV or VCR. If such interference continues, move the cordless telephone farther away from the TV or VCR.

    ESKTOP NSTALLATION 1. Make sure wall mount bracket is securely fastened. 2. Set RINGER switch (on both the handset and the base) to ON. 3. Plug the power supply cord into the POWER 12V DC jack on the base and into an AC outlet. 4.

    OUNT NSTALLATION Because it is necessary to charge the handset for 12 hours prior to connecting the phone for use the first time, it is better to leave the unit on a flat surface during initial charge before attempting to hang it on the wall.
  • Page 8 5. Remove the wall mount bracket. Rotate it so that the bottom of the phone is flat. Reattach the wall mount bracket by inserting the tabs into the slots on the top of the unit first, and then snapping the bottom tabs into place.

    ETUP ETTING THE IMPORTANT: For proper Caller ID operation, you must enter your area code. This setting can only be done from the base. 1. Make sure the phone is OFF. 2. Press the PROGRAM button on the base. AREA SETTING shows on the display.

    ULSE IALING This adjustment allows you to select tone (touch-tone) or pulse (rotary) mode dialing. The phone is automati- cally set for touch-tone use. This setting can only be done from the base. 1. Make sure the phone is OFF. 2.

    ETTING THE REMINDER: The time and date are programmed automatically when the first Caller ID information is successfully received after setup. 1. Make sure the phone is OFF. 2. Press and release the PROGRAM button on the base until TIME SETTING shows on the display.

    ETTING THE INGER The ringer sound can be set separately on both the handset and base. 1. Make sure the phone is OFF. 2. Press and release the PROGRAM button on the base (or PGM/ MUTE on the handset) until RINGER SETTING shows on the display.

    ID F ALLER EATURES This unit receives and displays information transmitted by your local phone company. This information can include the phone number, date, and time; or the name, phone number, date, and time. The unit can store up to 40 calls for later review.

    ECEIVING AND TORING ALLS When you receive a call, the information is transmitted by the phone company to your Caller ID Telephone between the first and second ring. When the memory is full, a new call automatically replaces the oldest call in memory.

    EVIEWING ESSAGES As calls are received and stored, the display is updated to let you know how many calls have been received. • Press the CID REVIEW arrow down button to scroll through the call records from the most recent to the oldest. You can also use the REVIEW button on the base.

    EMORY Store up to twenty-one 24-digit numbers in memory for quick dialing. The memory locations for the base and handset are separate, with 9 locations for each. The base also has 3 additional one-touch quick dial memory locations. This memory feature is in addition to the 40 Caller ID records that can be stored in memory.

    NSERTING A AUSE IN THE IALING EQUENCE Press the RE/PA button to insert a delay in the dialing sequence of a stored telephone number when a pause is needed to wait for a dial tone (for example after you dial 9 for an outside line, or to wait for a computer access tone).

    HANGING THE Make sure the phone is OFF before you replace the battery. 1. Remove the battery compartment door. 2. Disconnect the cord attached to the battery pack and remove the battery pack from the handset. 3. Insert the new battery pack and connect the cord into the jack inside the handset.
