Install Hard Disks (Optional - only if you purchased a diskless unit) Unlocked (Default position) To open the tray, press the round button. Initialize Hard Disks (For diskless users only) If you purchased a diskless ReadyNAS, after installing hard disks and going through the optional RAID Configuration (See Section you will need to wait until the volume creation is finished before accessing the ReadyNAS Setup Wizard. It will take up to 2 hours depend- ing on disk capacity.

RAID Configuration (continue...) Factory Default Step-by-step Make sure the device is power off. Insert a paper clip or push pin to trigger the “System Reset” switch. Depress the “System Reset” switch for 30 seconds while powering on the unit. As an indication, the 4 disk LEDs will light up for 2 sec. at the 5th and the 30th sec. As soon as the LEDs light at the 30th second, release the switch.
