Adding Fuel
Use extremecarewhen handlinggasoline.Gasoline isextremelyflammable
andthe vaporsareexplosive. N everfuel the machineindoors or while the
engine ishot or running. Extinguish cigarettes,cigars,pipesandother
sources of ignition.
Alwayskeephandsandfeet dear of equipment moving parts. Donot usea
pressurizedstarting fluid. Vaporsareflammable.
Remove t he gascap,check the fuel levelandaddfuel if necessary. Fillthe
tank untilthe fuel reaches 1/2"belowthe bottomof the filler neckto allow
forfuel expansion. Becarefulnotto overfill.
Checkingand Adding Oil
Theengine isshippedwithout oil in the engine.Youmustfill the engine
with oil beforeoperating. Runningthe engine with insufficient o il can
causeseriousengine damageandvoid the productwarranty.

Place the snowthrowerona flat, levelsurface.
2.
Remove t he oil filler cap/dipstick andwipethe dipstickclean.SeeFigure 11.

Insertthe cap/dipstick into the oil filler neck,but do not screwit in.
4.
Remove t he oil filler cap/dipstick. I fthe levelis low,slowlyaddoil until oil
levelregisters betweenhigh(H)andlow (L),Figure 11.
NOTE: Donotoverfill.Overfillingwith oil maycause smoking, h ardstarting,
or sparkplugfouling.
5.
Replace a ndtightencap/dipstick firmly beforestartingengine.
NOTE: DO NOT allowoil levelto fall belowthe "L" markon the dipstick.Doing
somayresultin equipmentmalfunctions or damage.
NOTE: Tochange the oil on yourengine,seethe Service andMaintenance
sectionofthis manual.
