Capabilities

Data-Aware Tiering
Automated Data-Aware Tiering allows businesses to consolidate storage resources and share that
storage across all connected servers and their applications. The Drobo B1200i moves beyond manu-
ally tuning an array for applications that have different storage requirements. Data-Aware Tiering
leverages high-capacity hard disk drives (HDDs) paired with high-performance solid state drives
(SSDs) to deliver application-optimized storage that requires no manual tuning.
Offsite Protection with Drobo Sync
Drobo Sync is a data replication tool built into the Drobo 8-bay B800fs. With 5-click setup, it is an
ultra-easy-to-use approach to offsite backup, which seamlessly performs incremental sync of files on
a scheduled basis from one Drobo to another somewhere on your network or across the Internet to a
remote site. Recovery from the offsite backup is faster and easier than offsite tape vaulting or cloud-
based backup. Compared to those approaches, offsite backup with Drobo Sync represents a lower
total cost of ownership for protecting large amounts of business data.
