operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the
literature accompanying the appliance.

Important safeguards

1 Read instructions-Read all safety and
operating instructions before using the CD
player.
2 Retain instructions-Keep this user guide for
future reference.
3 Heed warnings-You should follow all
warnings on the CD player and in the user
guide.
4 Follow instructions-You should follow all
operating and use instructions.
5 Cleaning-Unplug the CD player from the
power outlet before cleaning. Do not use
liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use a
damp cloth for cleaning.
6 Attachments-Do not use attachments not
recommended by Insignia, because they may
cause hazards.
7 Water and moisture-Do not use this CD
player near water. For example, near a bath
tub, wash bowl, kitchen sink, or laundry tub,
in a wet basement, or near a swimming pool.
8 Accessories-Do not place this CD player on
an unstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or
table. The CD player may fall, causing
serious injury to someone, and serious
damage to the CD player. Use only with a
cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table
recommended by Insignia, or sold with the
CD player.
Any mounting of the CD
player should follow this
guide's instructions and
should use a mounting
accessory recommended by
Insignia. A CD player and cart
combination should be moved
with care. Quick stops, excessive force, and
uneven surfaces may cause the CD player
and cart combination to overturn.
9 Ventilation-Slots and openings in the
cabinet and the back or bottom are provided
for ventilation, to ensure reliable operation of
the CD player, and to protect it from
overheating. These openings must not be
blocked or covered. The openings should
never be blocked by placing the CD player on
a bed, sofa, rug, or other similar surface. This
CD player should never be placed near or
over a radiator or heat register. This CD
player should not be placed in a built-in
installation such as a bookcase or rack
unless proper ventilation is provided or these
instructions have been adhered to.
10 Power sources-This CD player should be
operated only from the type of power source
indicated on the marking label. If you are not
sure of the type of power supply to your
home, consult your dealer or local power
company. For CD players intended to operate
from battery power, or other sources, refer to
the following instructions.
