Using the Flash

You can shoot images with a flash by raising the built-in flash. You can set the
flash mode to match the shooting conditions.

Lower the K (flash pop-up)
control to raise the flash.
• When the flash is lowered, flash operation
is disabled and S is displayed.

Press the multi selector H (m).

Select the desired flash mode
(A60) and press the k button.
• When the manual flash is selected, select
the flash output and press the k button.
• If a setting is not applied by pressing the k
button within a few seconds, the selection
will be canceled.

Flash Status Display
The status of the flash can be confirmed with
the flash mode icon at the top of the monitor
by pressing the shutter-release button halfway.
• On: The flash fires in accordance with the
flash mode when you press the shutter-
release button all the way down. When U
(auto) is set, the flash fires when W is displayed.
• Flashing: The flash is charging. The camera cannot shoot images.
• Off: The flash does not fire when an image is taken.
