Suggested mounting of an approved junction bo_
Install an approvedjuncdon box where it will be
easily accessible through the fi'ontof the cabinet
where the counter unit will be located.
IMPORTANT Thejunctionbox mustbe located
where it v_ll allow slackin the conduitfor
serviceabilitg If installingover a GSM2100
dishwasher, t he centerof the junctionbox must
be installedS" to 7" belowthe cooktop lip,so it
doesnot interferewith the dishwasher
installation or operation.
Install the counter unit in the cutout opening.
NOTE:If _e unit is beinginstalledin a blind counter
lonewi_ nocabinet o peningbelow)or overa GSM2100
dishwasher, wire connections musthe madebeforeputting
theunitinto the coteuL
Secure the cooktop unit to the counter using the
side retainers and _ shipped with the unit.
• For thicker counters (greater than 1"thick),
hold down straps should be used to install
the cooktop. They are included with some
models, or on be ordered, GE model
nmber WB2K5328.
Before installing the counterunit or moving it to
anotherlocation have the electzicico
• That your home is provided with adequate
electrical service.
• That the addition of the counter unit will not
overload the household circuit on which it is
used.
• To attach the cooktop to the counter, insert the
hold-down strap into the dotson each side of
the unit (see diagram).
• Use suitable screws to attach the cooktop to
the counter as shown. The cooktop must rest
on the metal flange around the burner box.

service to the unitbeforerepairingor
servicingthe counteruniL This can be done by
disconnecting the fuseor circuit breaker.Failure
to do this couldresultin a dangerousor even
fate/shock. Know where Fourmaindisconnect
