contour, changing depth ranges as needed
to keep the most recent sonar returns visible
on the display. Automatic Mode keeps the
bottom visible at all times, showing sonar
returns from the surface to the bottom and
just beyond. This is useful when traveling
across the water in areas where the depth
constantly changes requiring frequent range
changes.
The 320 selects the depth range best suited
to keep recent sonar returns visible, however,
the depth range can be adjusted to optimize
the display for viewing the second return.
The display can also be optimized for
maximum display resolution, making it
possible to distinguish fish very close
together or close to the bottom.
When the image of the bottom does not
appear close to the bottom of the LCD
display, the 320 is not fully optimizing the
display to show sonar targets, such as fish,
that are very close together. To enhance the
320's ability to separate sonar targets and
optimize the display for maximum resolution
follow these steps.
1. Make sure the 320 is operating in
Automatic Mode.
