On future starts, the software will always retain the last state of the Rack before you closed

(cross) in the Toolbar if you want to start from scratch again.

The Component Pool

Open the Component Pool by clicking on Components in the SideKick. Categories contains
all sound-shaping and modulating components and their Component Presets, ordered al-
phabetically. Click on their label to see the available components listed below.
▪ Amplifiers: Guitar and bass amps
▪ Cabinets: Matched cabinets, Cabinets & Mics, Control Room, and Control Room Pro
Delay &
Echo: Delays and Echo units
▪ Distortion: Distortion, Overdrive and Fuzz pedals
▪ Dynamics: Compressors, Limiters and Gates
▪ Equalizer: Graphic Equalizers
▪ Filters: Filters and wah-wah pedals
▪ Modifiers: Programmable parameter modifiers
▪ Modulation: Time- and pitch-based modulation effects
▪ Pitch: Pitched based effects and synthesizers
▪ Reverbs: Reverbs
Special
FX: Hard to categorize special effects
▪ Tools: Loop, Master FX, Container and tools for parallel signal processing
When you select any component by clicking on it, it is highlighted, and a list of all availa-
ble Component Presets is shown below. Learn more about Component Presets in section

Setting Up an Amp

The fastest way to start designing sounds with GUITAR RIG 5 is by adding an amp to the
Rack. If you want to quickly create a guitar sound, try the Jump amplifier.
► Drag the amp's icon from the Component Pool to the Rack. You can also double click
the icon.
The amplifier and a Matched Cabinet will be inserted into the Rack simultaneously. The
Matched Cabinet is only added automatically if no cabinet is present below the destination
of the amp. If you play now, you will hear that famous British sound.
