Start-up preferences
Tap this button to select what happens when your device starts. The fol-
lowing options are available:
• Ask for a destination - your device starts with the Navigate to...

menu.

• Show the Main Menu - your device starts with the Main Menu.
You are then asked if you want to change the picture that is shown
whenever you start your device.
Tap No to finish or tap Yes to see the photos stored on your device and
tap on a photo to select that photo for use as your start-up picture.

Change language

Tap this button to change the language used for all the buttons and
messages you see on your Rider.
You can choose from a wide range of languages. When you change the

language, you are also given the opportunity to change the voice.

Set units

Tap this button to set the units used for the following measurements:
• Distance
Set units
• Time
• Latitude and longitude

Set clock

Tap this button to select the time format and to set the time.
The easiest way to set the time is by tapping the Sync button. Your
Rider will then take the time from GPS information.
Set clock
Note: You can only use Sync if you have GPS reception, so you cannot
set the clock in this way when you are indoors.
After using Sync to set the time, you may have to adjust the hours
depending on your time zone. Your Rider works out your time zone and
always keeps the time correct using GPS information.

Tap this button to find technical information on your TomTom Rider
such as the device serial number and the map version.
