Go to System > Network > Interface.

Select Modify

Select Log to record log messages whenever a firewall policy accepts a connection to
this interface.

Select OK to save your changes.

Go to System > Network > Interface.

For the external interface, select Modify

Set Addressing mode to Manual.

Change the IP address and Netmask as required.

Select OK to save your changes.
Use the following procedure to configure the external interface to use DHCP. This
configuration is required if your ISP uses DHCP to assign the IP address of the
external interface.

Go to System > Network > Interface.

For the external interface, select Modify
3
Set Addressing mode to DHCP and select OK to change to DHCP mode.
Both the IP address and Netmask change to 0.0.0.0.
