The external motor is only
completely isolated from the
electricity supply when:
– the cooker hood is switched off at the
wall socket (pull on the plug, not the
cable), or
– the cable to the cooker hood is
disconnected, or
– the fuse from the fused spur
connection unit is withdrawn, or
– the screw-out fuse is removed (in
countries where this is applicable).
Installation
If the control cable needs to be
extended by more than the length
of the extension cable supplied,
equipotential bonding must be carried
out.
There is a connection point on the
external motor, marked with the earth
symbol -, to which the earth lead must
be attached.
All ducting, pipework and fittings
must be of non-flammable material.
These can be obtained from the Miele
Spare Parts department or from
builders' merchants.
The appliance must not be
connected to a chimney or vent
flue which is in use. Neither should it be
connected to ducting which ventilates
rooms with fireplaces.
Warning and Safety instructions
N.B. AWG 102:
The external motor must be
installed vertically on the outside wall.
The extraction outlet must face
downwards.
N.B. ABLG 200:
If exhaust air is to be extracted into
a chimney or ventilation duct no longer
used for other purposes, seek
professional advice.
N.B. DDG 102, DDF 125/150:
The motor and the roof vent kit are
designed to be installed on tiled,
pantiled, slate or shingle roofs; the
slope of the roof must be at least 10°.
They are not suitable for flat roofs.
When choosing a suitable
installation location, make sure that
it is easily accessible and that
installation work can be carried out
without danger.
This is also important if the appliance
needs to be serviced.
