Chapter Four: Setting Up Multiple Rooms
This section describes how to connect speakers in the two
rooms to support the different scenarios. Before you read
this section, Kenwood recommends reading "Connecting
Scenario 1: Surround Sound in Room A only or Stereo in Room A and Stereo in Room B (Using the Receiver's Speaker B Outputs)

The five amplifiers built into the receiver meet your sound
needs for both rooms. The built-in amplifiers allow you to
RIGHT
listen to full surround sound if you are listening in Room A
SPEAKER
only, or stereo in Room A if both rooms are active. You will
always hear stereo in Room B. Make the speaker connec-
tions as shown in the illustration under "To Connect Front
and Surround Sound Speakers:" on page 5, being sure to
also connect the Room B speakers to the SPEAKER B bind-
ing post.
You use an additional stereo amplifier for Room B. This
allows you to listen to full surround sound in Room A even
if both rooms are active. You will always hear stereo in Room
B. Make the speaker and amplifier connections as shown in
the illustration.

Both Scenarios: Connecting a Second TV/
Monitor
If you plan to watch movies, or any other visual entertain-
ment activity in Room B, you must connect an additional
TV/Monitor. To do so, connect a standard composite video
cable from the Room B TV to the SECOND ROOM PRE
OUT VIDEO jack.
The above is possible only when the composite signals are
input.
