SECTION 6: MAKING ADJUSTMENTS
WARNING:
De net at any tTme make any
adiustment to your lawn mower wTthout first
stopping the engine and disconnectTng the
spark plug wire.
HandleHeight
Your mower TsshTpped wTththe handle in the hTgher
height position.To lower the handle heTght for your
convenTence, proceed as follows.

Remove the starter rope from the rope guide.
Remove the upper handle by remevTng the hand
knobs and carriage bolts. Lay the upper handle out
of the way, being careful net to bend or kink cables.
Remove the haTrpin clips from the weld pTns on the
handle brackets. Press outward on the legs of the
lower handle, and remove Ttfrom the mower.
Turn the lower handle around so the notches on the
bottom of the lower handle are facTng forward as
shown TnFTgure 8. Reassemble, placTng the bottom
holes Tnthe handle over the weld pTnsTnthe handle
mounting bracket.
Reassemble the upper handle.
Place the haTrpin clips in the inner holes in the weld
pins. Reattach the starter rope.
Carburetor
WARNING:
If any adjustments are made to
the engine whT]e the engTne Ts runnTng (e.g.
carburetor), keep clear of all moving parts and
heated surfaces (e.g. muffler).
Minor carburetor adjustments may be requTred to
compensate for differences in fuel, temperature,
altTtude and load. To adiust carburetor, refer to the
engine manual.
NOTE:
A dirty air cleaner will cause an engine to run
rough. Make sure air cleaner is clean and attached to
the carburetor before adjusting carburetor.
Cutting Height
An adiusting plate and thumb lever at each wheel
position provides cutting heTght adiustment. Each
adjusting plate has nTneheTght posTtTons.Height of cut
will be changed when the thumb lever is moved from
one hole to another.
Simply depress the lever towards wheel and move
wheel and lever assembly to desired posTtTen.AI]
wheels must be placed in the same relative
posTtTen.See Figure 9.

SECTION 7: MAINTAINING YOUR LAWNMOWER
WARNING:
Always
stop
engine
and
disconnect
spark plug wire before cleanTng,
lubrTcating or deTng any kTnd of maTntenance
work on lawn mower.
Lubrication
Blade Control
LubrTcatethe pivot poTntson the blade control
handle and the brake cable at least once a season
wTth light el]. See Figure "10.The blade control must
operate freely in both directTens.
Wheels
Lubricate the wheel bearings (Tfso efluTpped) at
least once a season with light oil (or engine oil).
Also, Tfthe wheels are removed for any reason,
lubrTcate the surface of the axle bolt and the inner
surface of the wheel wTthITghtell. See Figure 10.
Engine
Follow engTne manual for lubrication TnstructTens.
