Basic Operation

Preparations must be made using the procedure shown on the diagram
below in order to make DJ performances using a wireless LAN.

Installing rekordbox (iOS/Android)
Download the rekordbox (iOS/Android) application
using a mobile device or computer, then install it on the
mobile device.
rekordbox (iOS/Android) can be used on your mobile device.
! The rekordbox (iOS/Android) application can be downloaded from
the App Store or Google Play.

Importing tracks

In order to play tracks (music files) on a mobile device or computer on
this unit, the tracks must first be analyzed then added to the rekordbox
library.
! The following describes the procedure for importing tracks into
rekordbox on a mobile device.
For the procedure for importing tracks into rekordbox on a computer,
see the Operating Instructions for rekordbox (Mac/Windows).
1 At the rekordbox (iOS/Android) top menu, tap the
import button.
A list of music files on the mobile device is displayed.
2 Tap the music file you want to add to the library.
The selected music file is displayed in gray.
! Multiple music files can be selected simultaneously. To add all the
displayed music files, tap the add all tracks button.
3 Tap the import button.
Analysis of the music file(s) begins.
Once analysis of the music file(s) is completed, the track(s) is (are)
added to the rekordbox (iOS/Android) library.
Loading tracks
There are four ways to load tracks into this unit, as described below.

— Loading tracks from mobile devices or computers via wireless LAN
— Loading tracks on USB devices connected to this unit from mobile
— Using this unit's rotary selector to load tracks from a mobile device
— Loading tracks from USB devices
To make DJ performances using a wireless LAN, the LINK EXPORT
function must be used after making the wireless LAN connection then
establishing the link.
For making wireless LAN connections, see Connecting by wireless LAN
on page 11.
2. Importing tracks
For instructions on establishing the link, see the User's Manual for
rekordbox (iOS/Android) or the Operating Instructions for rekordbox
(Mac/Windows).
When a link is established with a mobile device or computer, one of
link indicators 1 to 4 lights. (Which link indicator(s) light(s) depends on
the number of units connected simultaneously.)

1 Connect the mobile device or computer to this unit
via wireless LAN.
2 Launch rekordbox on the mobile device or computer
and establish the link.
3 Operate rekordbox on the mobile device or computer
to select the track.
4 Operate rekordbox on the mobile device or computer
to select the deck on which the track is to be loaded,
then tap or click.
Track loading starts. The jog dial indicator on the deck on which the
track is being loaded flashes.
Once playback is possible, the jog dial indicator stops flashing, remain-
ing lit, the track name is displayed on the main unit display and playback
starts (by factory default).
Loading tracks on USB devices connected
to this unit from mobile devices by
browsing via wireless LAN
1 Connect the mobile device by wireless LAN.
2 Launch rekordbox on the mobile device and establish
the link.
3 Connect the USB device to this unit's USB device
insertion slot.
4 Operate rekordbox on the mobile device to select the
track.
5 Operate rekordbox on the mobile device to select the
deck on which the track is to be loaded, then tap.
Track loading starts. The jog dial indicator on the deck on which the
track is being loaded flashes.
Once playback is possible, the jog dial indicator stops flashing, remain-
ing lit, the track name is displayed on the main unit display and playback
starts (by factory default).
